How I work
I'm Tommy. I've been photographing people for over 25 years, and Sleepless Boudoir is the private studio I run in Austin. I work with clients throughout Central Texas.
The sessions here are guided the whole way through. You don't need to arrive knowing how to pose, what to wear, or how to feel. Working that out is what the session is for. I give clear direction, I don't rush, and nothing moves faster than you're comfortable with.
What I'm after in the pictures is something real. Presence, and the small details that make you look like you.
I photograph boudoir, intimate portraits, maternity, couples, and some bridal and pre-wedding work.

I've spent 25 years behind a camera. First-time clients often tell me afterward they were braced to feel awkward and didn't. That comes from doing the same things every time: explaining what I'm about to do before I do it, directing with words and demonstration, and stopping the moment someone looks unsure.
Marggie
Professional Hair & Makeup Artist
In her words:
I've been doing hair and makeup for twenty years and I've worked with a lot of photographers. I'm in the room for every one of Tommy's sessions. I'm working the whole time, talking and laughing with you between setups.
People sometimes ask me what it's like working with a man in this genre. Honestly, it's the reason I still do it. He's careful with people. He explains what he's doing before he does it. He never touches anyone. And he stops the second someone looks uncertain.
You won't be alone here, and you won't be rushed.
Professional Hair & Makeup, Always Included
Every Sleepless Boudoir session includes professional hair and makeup with Marggie. It takes about an hour.
Clients do not need to arrive camera-ready or know how to style themselves. That is handled. Marggie asks what you want to look and feel like, then styles you to match, whether that is soft and natural or something with more presence.
That hour is also when you settle in. You can relax and ask questions before you step in front of the camera, and Marggie stays in the room once the session starts.
The Studio
Private Location
Sessions take place in a private Austin studio with three sets: a window seat looking onto oak trees, a bedroom set with a tufted headboard, and a gold velvet chaise under a beaded chandelier. Most of the light comes through the windows. The address is shared after booking.
On-Location Options
For clients who prefer a different setting, on-location sessions are available throughout Austin and Central Texas.
